VIRTUAL Pre-K Interactive & Shared Writing



Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) provides assistance to districts in the successful development and implementation of a school readiness integration model of coordinated funding that brings school districts, Head Start programs and child care providers together in a mixed delivery model.  ESC-20 also provides leadership to ensure the effective regional implementation of appropriate instructional strategies in early childhood settings through technical assistance and professional development in the areas of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum and supports parents with Pre-Kindergarten information and eligibility criteria.

In this training, participants will learn to discuss the importance of written expression by describing how written expression contributes to children's broader language development. Learn the role that written expression and emergent writing (including both children's writing/drawing and their understanding of the purpose of written words) play in early literacy development. Model both the purpose and process of writing for children throughout the school day.
