What Every Parent Should Know About Autism



ESC-20 provides resources and training opportunities for parents and families of students served within federal programs, including, but not limited to, Title I, Title III, Special Education, and Head Start.

Important Session Information:


This training is an overview of Early Identification and Supporting Families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or families with children who exhibit Developmental Delays indicating potential diagnoses.  The course will help answer the following questions:

What does an ASD diagnosis really mean?
What are some indicators I may notice different from a typically developing child?
Why is early intervention important?
What are evidence-based practices and programs to support individuals with autism?


Participants who successfully complete this course will:
Be able to identify signs and characteristics of children with ASD.
Gain knowledge of recommended resources and programs for caregiver and individual support to increase quality of life.
