Are you a new teacher to deaf education? Are you providing deaf education services to a local education agency (district or charter) that is within the boundaries the Education Service Center, Region 20 area? Would you like to have a safe and respectful place to ask questions, build your knowledge, and improve your practices? If you answered "Yes!" to these questions, then this cohort is for you! We will meet twice a semester for an hour and a half to discuss topics of deaf education. These meetings will provide new deaf education teachers opportunities to discuss issues related to the delivery of instructional services to students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Topics may include the role and responsibilities of the deaf education teacher, legal updates, and instructional strategies and supports - including technology, disability information, caseload management, and specific issues/discussions.
