Important Session Information:

When students have more than one disability condition, it’s important to consider both and also how they interact with each other. Both deafness and autism can have a significant impact on communication and language as well as learning. This one-day in-person session provides an overview of specific instructional and visual strategies that positively impact learners with autism's academic and behavioral success. As teachers gain a deeper understanding of autism characteristics and characteristics of students who are deaf and hard of hearing, they will be able to discuss and explore effective ways of supporting academic, behavioral, and social related skills for learners in their classrooms.
