Important Session Information:

When should students become aware of any disabilities, and how might these impact their academic performance, decision-making skills, and future success beyond school? As of 2018-2019, TAC 89.1055 mandates that self-determination be addressed during the transition process by the age of 14. Self-determination entails the belief that individuals can shape their own destinies, incorporating both attitudes and abilities that propel them to set goals and pursue them.

This session underscores the importance of teaching students decision-making, goal-setting, and self-evaluation skills to help them grasp the significance of making informed choices.
