Education Service Center, Region 20 is hosting a Scavenger Hunt for students with visual impairments. Students will be provided with a list of tasks to accomplish in their community accompanied by their Teacher for Students with Visual Impairments and/or their Orientation and Mobility Specialist.
Students and/or adults will be required to take pictures, share them, and upload them to a Google Drive folder to indicate that the student has completed the task. Participants may check in with ESC-20 via Zoom upon completion of the event. Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) Skills are essential in completing tasks.
A list of tasks will be provided to the teacher for students with visual impairments along with a link to upload their pictures 2 weeks before the event. Students will receive a book after the event documenting all their adventures. For students with complex needs, adults should consider creating an experience book for your students to share with others.
Vision professionals, please register with Connect 20. Once adult registration is confirmed, a link will be sent to teachers to register their students.
Zoom will be available at 9:00 and will close at 3:00 on the day of the event. This allows the participants to begin the scavenger hunt on their timeline.
