ESC-20 provides training, technical support, resources and information about speech therapy for students who have communication disorders.

This program has been submitted for approval of 3.0 clock hours of continuing education credit by the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (TSHA). TSHA approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.

This session will cover strategies for collecting and interpreting data when evaluating students who speak languages in addition to English. SLPs will learn strategies for what to do before, during, and after the evaluation. Among the topics covered, we will discuss testing with therapy in mind so evaluation data can inform both the disability and linguistic supports needed during intervention. This session will satisfy the Ethics requirements for the Texas state license and for ASHA certification maintenance. This session will also satisfy ASHA’s DEI requirements for maintenance of certificate of clinical competence.
