Important Session Information:

The Station Rotation Model (AM)
It's impossible to meet the needs of diverse learners if you move lockstep through curriculum and activities as a whole class. Explore how the Station Rotation Model can help you create more opportunities to work directly with small groups of students, individualize scaffolding and support, differentiate instruction, move feedback into the classroom, and allow students to control the pace of their learning. During this hands-on, practice-based session, Ms. Gutierrez will highlight strategies for designing dynamic lessons, provide tips for making the most of your teacher-led station, review grouping strategies, and encourage you to move feedback and assessment into the classroom.
*Half-day
*Audience: Teachers and Coaches
*UDL focus can be applied to this session.
*Book pairing: UDL and Blended Learning or The Complete Guide to Blended Learning

Taking the Station Rotation to the Next Level (PM)
This workshop builds on a basic understanding of the purpose, benefits, and design of the station rotation model. It focuses on the role of data in designing and facilitating learning experiences that are accessible, inclusive, and equitable. Participants will explore and apply strategies for collecting pre-assessment data to understand where students are beginning in relation to concepts and skills. They’ll learn how to collect formative assessment data during the lesson that they can use to differentiate subsequent lessons effectively. Teachers will identify areas in a learning experience where they can provide students with agency to remove barriers and give them meaningful choices about how they engage with and comprehend information and how they demonstrate their learning. In this workshop, teachers will explore strategies for modifying the traditional station rotation to give students more control over the pace and path of their learning.
