Virtual: Maintenance of Effort (MOE)- Exceptions for Failed Tests

ESC-20 provides training, technical assistance and resources for complying with state and federal regulations, state monitoring systems and federal funding requirements. Monthly special education director meetings are hosted to share all relevant information.

Important Session Information:

Maintenance of Effort (MOE) is a federal fiscal requirement for any independent school district and open-enrollment charter school (LEA) that receives Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Part B (IDEA-B) funds. The MOE requirement is applicable as well to member districts of a special education shared services arrangement (SSA), whose fiscal agent receives the IDEA-B funds on behalf of their member districts.
