By attending this training series*, participants will be able to: define Parent and Family Engagement under ESSA, utilize research to understand its importance and benefits, identify district and school level PFE requirements under ESSA, identify allowable uses of Title I PFE funds, identify common monitoring trends focused on parent and community engagement, identify guiding principles in PFE, and explore resources focused on PFE. This 4-part series will take place on 1/27/25 (Module 1), 2/24/25 (Module 2), 3/18/25 (Module 3), and 4/7/25 (Module 4), from 9am to 12pm.
Module 4, 4/7/25: Building Parent/Guardian and Family Capacity is More than Building Relationships
This session helps schools that building capacity is not just social work. While building relationships is critical to better parent and family engagement, building capacity requirements must be met. Participants will walk away knowing the building capacity requirements, different evaluation methods, as well as Parents Right to Know as outlined in ESSA 1112 and 1116.
