Career & Technology Education (CTE)
CTE - NCCER ICTP – National Center for Construction Education and Research Instructor Craft Training Program

CTE instruction aims at developing foundational skills, core workplace competencies, and specific skill competencies in various occupational areas. Internships, practicums, cooperative education, school-based enterprises, dual enrollment programs, and apprenticeships are a few venues that deliver CTE by providing meaningful opportunities for leaners to apply their academic and technical skills. We serve the career and education community through targeted support for CTE compliance, program development and implementation with rigor and relevancy; bridging with postsecondary education and industry partners to build a global workforce, quality education programs and 21st century learners.

NCCER ICTP – National Center for Construction Education and Research Instructor Craft Training Program

Workshop #109408

June 3, 4, and 5, 2025

Hosted by Southside ISD - Southside High School

1460 Martinez Losoya Road, San Antonio, TX 78221

Fee - $295

CTE Co-op $200

CTE SSA $0

This three-day training is for CTE teachers (Agriculture and Craft Trade Teachers) who have never previously been certified with NCCER through the ICTP (Instructor Craft Training Program) and have never taught the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum. It is also for those CTE teachers who were previously NCCER certified and wish to re-certify.

The NCCER ICTP training program provides CTE teachers with skills and credentials to turn the NCCER certification training around in their classroom to certify CTE students with nationally and internationally recognized, industry ready, portable credentials.

Developed by industry experts and trainers, the units are competency based and contain certifications that complement the TEKS for a variety of CTE courses in the AFNR and Architecture and Construction and in the Manufacturing Career Clusters.

NCCER develops standardized construction and maintenance curriculum with assessments that can be awarded to students with portable credentials. These credentials are tracked through NCCER's national registry that allows business and industry organizations and companies to track the qualifications of their craft professionals and/or check the qualifications of potential new hires.

Special Guest Instructor is Mr. James D (Dan) Barrow. Mr. Barrow is a master trainer for NCCER, a retired Industrial Construction Project Manager, County Agent, and craft training instructor at Zachary corporation.
