Overview of the Migrant Education Program
MEP 2025
This one-hour online course provides a high-level overview of the Title I, Part C Migrant Education Program. Participants will learn not only the history of the program, but also they will be able to identify the three types of migrant LEA’s (SSA, Project, and Non-Project). In addition, participants will
increase their personal awareness and knowledge of the migrant education program and understand the unique challenges faced by these students.
This course supports the Texas Education Agency’s request that ESCs and Non-Project Districts work collaboratively to recruit all eligible migratory students residing within the LEA’s district boundaries, including Out of School Youth. This course is suitable for any LEA personnel who would like to better understand the Migrant Education Program.
