The T-TESS Appraiser Certification Training is a three-day face-to-face training from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for current and aspiring administrators. Attendance is required for all three days in order to obtain access to the online certification test and certificate access.

T-TESS Appraisers in Texas are also required to complete Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) Certification training, which is a three-day face-to-face training required for administrators who provide teacher evaluations. This certification is a co-requisite to the T-TESS Appraiser Certification.
**Administrators who hold an ILD Certification are grandfathered and are therefore not required to hold an AEL Certification.**

All T-TESS Appraisers in Texas must have their TTESS Appraiser Certification AND their AEL Certification in order to appraise teachers. This is in statute.
