Engaging Young Minds: The Four Question Method (4QM) in Elementary Social Studies



ESC-20 provides professional development and technical assistance to support educators with implementation of the Social Studies TEKS, analyze data to enhance instructional practices to meet the needs of students, and provides targeted support to reach campus and district goals.

This resource explores how the Four Question Method can be used to make elementary social studies more engaging and thought-provoking. By structuring lessons around essential questions that promote inquiry, critical thinking, and discussion, educators can help students connect historical and social concepts to their own lives. This approach fosters curiosity, deeper understanding, and active participation in the classroom.
