G/T 6 Hour Update - Practical Strategies for Adding Rigor Using Depth and Complexity (Floresville ISD)

The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:

Gifted and Talented students are provided opportunities to engage in curriculum that is appropriate to their needs. As educators, we must find ways to promote critical thinking and meaningful interaction with content. The Depth and Complexity Framework developed by Bette Gould and Dr. Sandra Kaplan provides 11 thinking tools that can help make this type of engagement a possibility for all learners. Come explore ways to transform lessons for all of your students and promote a student focused environment that will benefit everyone.

NOTE: This session can count for a G/T Day 4, Day 5 or 6-Hour Update if not previously taken.

This session is exclusive to educators in Floresville ISD and will take place at Floresville HS in the Cafeteria.
