The TEA EDGAR Academy is being held for ESC Staff only, that was not able to attend either academy in December.
This session will be held at Embassy Suites by Hilton Austin Central located at 5901 N. Interstate Highway 35 in Austin, Texas 78723.
This comprehensive three-day academy will be conducted by Cory Green, TEA Associate Commissioner, and Nick Davis, Chief of Staff, for the Department of Grant Compliance and Administration. Participants will gain insights into the various components and regulations of the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR). Recently, these regulations and their associated provisions were revised by the Secretary of Education to enhance and better align them with the U.S. Department of Education. The academy will cover the updated statutes, regulations, and procedures. (The most recent updates to these regulations took effect on September 30, 2024.) Attendees will acquire the necessary tools to assist Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and Charter Schools in implementing essential updates to ensure compliance.
Appropriate attendees: Any and all ESC staff that works with Federal Programs to include Directors, Consultants, Specialists, Business Office, Basic Services, Special Education, McKinney Vento, Title I (Parts A, C and D), Title, II, Title III, Title IV, Title V (Parts A and B), Title VIII, and ESSA Private School Equitable Services, Teacher Equity Plans, IDEA, Perkins and CTE. We hope you will attend in teams but may choose either or both locations.
Any of these program grants may pay for travel to the academy.
