TCMPC in Action: Practical Planning for Effective Instruction in Elementary Science for Strand 3: Earth and Space Science



ESC-20 provides professional development and technical assistance to support educators with implementation of the Science TEKS by analyzing data to enhance instructional practices to meet the needs of students, and provides targeted support to reach campus and district goals.

Important Session Information:


Translate the TCMPC components into engaging and impactful classroom experiences!

Goals for Session:

  • Provide practical tools and strategies for planning science lessons utilizing the Instructional Focus Document (IFD) as well as other components found in TEKS Resource System (TRS).
  • Backwards planning for the Performance Assessments (PA) to determine students’ knowledge and skills needed for mastery.

Participants will:

  • Gain a deep understanding of the components of the TEKS Resource System (TRS) found in TCMPC.
  • Work collaboratively to develop sample lesson plans, explore resources, and discuss best practices for implementation.

Intended Audience:

  • Instructional coaches, Science leads, and grade-level teachers.
