ESC-20 provides training and technical assistance for professionals serving student with dyslexia. Students with dyslexia usually experience difficulties with other language skills such as spelling, writing, and pronouncing words.

Description:

Turbo Start: A Dyslexia Curriculum for Newly Identified Students with Dyslexia (Turbo Start) is a program written by the staff of the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders of Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, Texas. It is a 9-week, evidence-based dyslexia program designed to serve as an entry level companion course for newly identified students preparing to embark on a direct, systemic, sequential and cumulative, multisensory dyslexia program.

Turbo Startis intended to give educators a flexible starting point to give newly identified students with dyslexia foundational skills they need to embark on a comprehensive dyslexia program.

  • At this time, training is offered for Take Flight therapists ONLY.
  • Each participant is required to buy the teacher manual from the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital 
This session is free for members of the Special Education Cooperative.
