Do you want to learn how to effectively interpret at an ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meeting?
Join is to learn more about the ARD process, interpreting etiquette, and best practices when serving as an interpreter in special education. This workshop will help you familiarize yourself with common ARD/IEP (Individualized Education Program) vocabulary, terminology, acronyms, and concepts in Spanish to help you interpret accurately and efficiently. Become aware of cultural differences that may influence communication and interpretation and learn how to prepare for the meeting by reviewing relevant documents. Participants will have several opportunities to practice and translate by analyzing specific documents in Spanish that are pertinent to Special Education and participating in mock ARD meetings with different scenarios.
