CANCELLED Beyond the Backpack: Creating a Haven for Students Experiencing Homelessness
ESC-20 provides professional development and technical assistance to support educators with implementation of the Social Studies TEKS, analyze data to enhance instructional practices to meet the needs of students, and provides targeted support to reach campus and district goals.
Important Session Information:
This session will equip educators with practical strategies and an empathetic understanding to effectively support students experiencing homelessness. We'll explore the unique challenges these students face and discuss actionable ways teachers can build trust, foster a sense of belonging, and ensure their academic and socio-emotional well-being. Learn how to identify signs of homelessness, connect students with essential resources, and advocate for policies that create a truly safe and inclusive school environment for all.
