Important Session Information:

Join Education Service Center, Region 20 and Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI) Outreach for a dynamic and hands-on training designed for educators, specialists, and teams supporting students with visual impairments and complex needs. This session will examine the crucial role of teams (TSVIs, COMS, and classroom faculty/staff) in the use of assistive technology (AT) in facilitating functional communication, academic access, and independence across various environments.

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of:
* Legal foundations and best practices for AT assessment and service delivery
* Tools and frameworks such as SETT, QIAT, and DATE
* Selecting and implementing light-, mid-, and high-tech solutions, including switches, communication systems, and eye gaze technology
* Supporting students with cortical visual impairment (CVI) and tailoring access methods to meet individual needs
* Practical strategies for integrating AT into the Expanded Core Curriculum and daily routines, including O&M support as a team member.
With hands-on activities, collaborative problem-solving, and real-world case studies, attendees will leave with actionable tools to better assess, support, and empower learners with multiple disabilities. Whether you're new to assistive technology or looking to deepen your expertise, this session is built to meet you where you are.

**Audience:** TSVIs, COMS, SLPs, AT Specialists, OTs, PTs, Special Educators, and related service providers.

This session is free to members of the Special Education Cooperative.
