between
Session 1: Fun & Engaging Therapy Ideas Through Purposeful Play
Presenter: Pam Sepulvado, M.CD., CCC-SLP
This session will explore creative, play-based approaches to speech therapy that promote
communication, participation, and progress for a variety of age ranges. Attendees will gain practical,
adaptable ideas that blend fun with function-making therapy both meaningful and motivating! Whether you
are working on language, articulation, or social communication, these strategies are designed to spark
engagement across a wide range of interest and abilities.
Session 2: Breaking Up is Hard to Do: Dismissal from Speech-Language Therapy
Presenter: Beth Darbe, Ed.D., CCC-SLP
Is speech-language therapy meant to be a forever support? When is it appropriate to consider
dismissal from speech-language therapy services? What if parents disagree with the speech-language pathologist’s
(SLP’s) recommendation for dismissal? This session will explore these questions and more by dissecting legally
defensible considerations for dismissal from speech therapy services. By utilizing robust data collected from the
reevaluation, SLPs can gather crucial information regarding the impact of the disability and the need for specially
designed instruction from the SLP.
