New Counselor Boot Camp Series - Day 1 and 2



Professional development for school counselors is aligned with the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs and supports work in the four service delivery components: Guidance Curriculum, Responsive Services, Individual Planning, and System Support.

Target Audience: PK-12 school counselors

Welcome to the wonderful profession of school counseling! If you are brand new, if you have three or fewer years of experience, or if you are seasoned but would like a refresher, join us for two days of learning, sharing, laughing, and planning. We will talk about your role and how your work fits into a Comprehensive School Counseling Program (CSCP). Topics will include the four components of a CSCP, the four student competencies, 80% of your time per SB 179, small groups, classroom guidance, strategies for effective planning, and crisis response. Participants will network and collaborate with other new school counselors.
