The Youth Awareness Hour series is coordinated by the Behavioral Health Partnership Program Liaison for ESC 20. This series was designed to provide no-cost, convenient, learning opportunities to inform, engage, and empower adults who play a role in the lives of young people.
Each session, we will explore key issues affecting youth today — from mental health and social media, to peer pressure, relationships, and more. The goal is to help bridge generational gaps, deepen empathy, and equip adults with the awareness and tools to better support the next generation.
This session will be presented by San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, and will cover Attachment-Informed De-Escalation Techniques (PACE).
Learn how the PACE model—Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy—can transform challenging moments into opportunities for connection and growth. This training equips teachers with simple, attachment-informed de-escalation strategies that build trust, reduce conflict, and restore safety in the classroom.
Whether you're a parent, teacher, coach, counselor, or community leader — these sessions are for you. Let’s learn together, grow together, and show up stronger for today’s youth!
