The Youth Awareness Hour series is coordinated by the Behavioral Health Partnership Program Liaison for ESC 20. This series was designed to provide no-cost, convenient, learning opportunities to inform, engage, and empower adults who play a role in the lives of young people.

Each session, we will explore key issues affecting youth today — from mental health and social media, to peer pressure, relationships, and more. The goal is to help bridge generational gaps, deepen empathy, and equip adults with the awareness and tools to better support the next generation.

This session will be presented by San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, and will cover Beyond Screen Time: Nurturing Identity and Values in a Media-Driven World.

Explore how media shapes the way children and adolescents see themselves—and learn practical ways to guide them in building a strong sense of identity and core values.  This training equips educators and caregivers with tools to foster resilience, critical thinking, and meaningful connections in today’s screen-saturated world.
