The Youth Awareness Hour series is coordinated by the Behavioral Health Partnership Program Liaison for ESC 20. This series was designed to provide no-cost, convenient, learning opportunities to inform, engage, and empower adults who play a role in the lives of young people.
Each session, we will explore key issues affecting youth today — from mental health and social media, to peer pressure, relationships, and more. The goal is to help bridge generational gaps, deepen empathy, and equip adults with the awareness and tools to better support the next generation.
This session will be presented by San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, and will cover Suicide Risk Assessment and Prevention: What to Ask, What to Do.
Gain confidence in recognizing warning signs of suicide and learn exactly what questions to ask and what steps to take to keep students safe. This training equips teachers and school staff with clear, practical tools for prevention, intervention, and connection to lifesaving support.
Whether you're a parent, teacher, coach, counselor, or community leader — these sessions are for you. Let’s learn together, grow together, and show up stronger for today’s youth!
