G/T Online - 6 hour update - Enhancing Advanced Products and Performances for G/T Students through the Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP) - Spring Session 1 2026



The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:


The purpose of this online course is to support the G/T 30-hour requirement while giving participants a solid understanding of Depth and Complexity and practical strategies they can use in their classrooms. It also introduces participants to the Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP) and how it can enrich instruction for advanced learners.

The course explores Depth and Complexity through the eight elements of depth: Language of the Discipline, Details, Patterns, Trends, Rules, Ethics, Unanswered Questions, and Big Ideas. Participants will engage in discussion boards, reflect on their experiences, and explore relevant research.

This workshop aligns with the Texas State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) standards for Gifted Education, as well as the combined standards from the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). It meets Texas state requirements for G/T training in Differentiated Instruction for gifted and talented students.

This course is self paced and you can enroll at any time between now and January 7, 2026

You will have from January 12, 2026 - March 6, 2026 to complete the course.
