Each spring, as the weather starts to warm, evaluation personnel turn their thoughts to beach days, summer vacations… and then the Assistant Principal reminds them that they need to schedule a Manifestation Determination Review (MDR) ASAP. MDRs are part of the spring for school personnel and evaluators, in particular, find themselves in difficult situations, helping administration maintain order while also making sure the whole process is legally compliant. Elvin Houston, a school lawyer with years of MDR experience is here to share his legal knowledge and practical experience to guide evaluators through MDR season. With discussions of everything from how schedule the MDR to how to guide the team when there are differences of opinion, Elvin will cover it with insight and humor, so you can get back to your summer dreams!
