This session is presented by guest speaker, and author of Sensory Smart Classrooms, Michael Soria.
Summer brings freedom—but it also brings change. Without the predictable structure of the school year, many children experience increased dysregulation, emotional outbursts, withdrawal, sleep disruption, and daily power struggles. These behaviors are not a sign of defiance or regression. They are signs of nervous system overload.
In this session, parents will learn how sensory processing and nervous system regulation directly influence behavior, emotional stability, and daily functioning. You will gain practical, realistic strategies to help your child navigate changes in routine, transitions, travel, camps, and increased time at home.
Parents will leave with tools to:
• Prevent meltdowns before they begin
• Reduce daily battles around transitions and expectations
• Support emotional regulation during unstructured time
• Create sensory-smart routines that actually work
• Help their child recover more quickly from overwhelm
This session is designed to be immediately useful, whether your child struggles occasionally or frequently. Parents will gain a new understanding of behavior—and practical strategies they can begin using the very next day.
