Learning Off Site Observation Learning Lab 3: (G/T hrs) The Innovation & Design Lab

The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:

StartFragmentParticipants will observe the intersection of digital CAD design and physical engineering, focusing on how open-ended projects reveal hidden student interests and aptitudes. You will evaluate the implementation of these design challenges and collaborate on ways to bridge the content into one of the TPSP independent research projects to benefit your gifted learners. This lab requires drafting a "Design Choice Menu" or an "Individualized Learning Contract" that outlines specific, high-level challenges for your advanced or 2E learners to tackle within a standard unit.
