Addressing Disabilities During the Behavioral Threat Assessment Process

Important Session Information:


 The Texas Education Agency’s Office of School Safety and Security, in collaboration with, Office of Special Populations and Student Supports, has a training opportunity titled 

Addressing Disabilities During the Behavioral Threat Assessment Process.

This training is designed to support campus, district, and ESC personnel in gaining a deeper understanding of how disabilities, particularly those served through special education, intersect with behavioral threat assessment practices. The session will include:

  • A general overview of special education processes and services
  • Key considerations for evaluating situations involving students with disabilities
  • How Sentinel supports BTAs on Students with Disabilities
  • Collaborative scenario-based tabletop exercise to apply concepts in practical settings

This is an in-person session to be held at ESC-20.
