Early Childhood
CANCELED Virtual: MTSS for Behavior Support Overview

Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) provides assistance to districts in the successful development and implementation of a school readiness integration model of coordinated funding that brings school districts, Head Start programs and child care providers together in a mixed delivery model.  ESC-20 also provides leadership to ensure the effective regional implementation of appropriate instructional strategies in early childhood settings through technical assistance and professional development in the areas of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum and supports parents with Pre-Kindergarten information and eligibility criteria.

Important Session Information:

This introductory 90-minute session provides educators with a foundational understanding of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework for behavior. Participants will learn how the three tiers (Universal, Targeted, and Intensive) work together to support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of all children. The session will cover the core principles of MTSS, including data-based decision-making and the use of evidence-based practices. Participants will leave with a clear picture of how to apply this comprehensive approach to promote a positive and supportive classroom climate.

This is the first session in a four part series. While registration for all parts is not required, it is recommended, as each tier builds upon the foundation of Tier 1 practices.
