Virtual: Sound Advice: Building Foundations for Phonological Awarenss Part 2



Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) provides assistance to districts in the successful development and implementation of a school readiness integration model of coordinated funding that brings school districts, Head Start programs and child care providers together in a mixed delivery model.  ESC-20 also provides leadership to ensure the effective regional implementation of appropriate instructional strategies in early childhood settings through technical assistance and professional development in the areas of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum and supports parents with Pre-Kindergarten information and eligibility criteria.

In this session, PreK teachers will focus on the following objectives: Define Phonological Awareness, Identify the 6 Phonological Awareness Skills, Explore the Phonological Awareness Timeline and Explore ways to Teach Phonological Awareness in the classroom.
