Important Session Information:

Come and take a closer look at how comprehension develops in the Bluebonnet RLA curriculum! In this session, K-2 teachers will explore how the curriculum builds young readers' understanding of text through intentional read-alouds, vocabulary development, and structured student discussion.

We will dig into the examine key lesson components, experience comprehension routines as students would, and learn practical strategies for helping early readers make meaning from complex texts. The session also highlights how teachers can gradually transfer the work of thinking and meaning-making to students through questioning, partner talk, and text-based responses. You will leave with a clearer understanding of the curriculum's core comprehension moves and apply them to support stronger thinking, discussion, and understanding in K-2 classrooms.
