G/T 6 Hour Update - Elevate K-5 Math Bluebonnet Units for G/T Learners Using Inquiry

The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:

Ever been in the situation where a student already knows the "how" to process or work through math problems? If so, you know the real challenge lies in the "why."

This session moves beyond basic "answer-getting" to help you facilitate high-level student discourse and inquiry in math. We will take the what exists in the Math K-5 Bluebonnet Learning materials and transform them into high-ceiling inquiries that require students to provide proof, explore examples, and verbalize their reasoning.

Using the Depth and Complexity framework, you’ll learn how to turn routine "Math Talks" into deep-thinking opportunities that challenge even your most advanced learners.

This session will be held at one of our Learning Offsite Partner locations:
Confluence Park, Education Center
