Virtual: Utilizing Classroom Transition Times to Maximize Learning and Increase Desired Behavior



Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) provides assistance to districts in the successful development and implementation of a school readiness integration model of coordinated funding that brings school districts, Head Start programs and child care providers together in a mixed delivery model.  ESC-20 also provides leadership to ensure the effective regional implementation of appropriate instructional strategies in early childhood settings through technical assistance and professional development in the areas of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum and supports parents with Pre-Kindergarten information and eligibility criteria.

Learning in Motion: Mastering Classroom Transitions to Maximize Learning In a high-quality early childhood environment, transitions are not just "wait times"—they are critical opportunities for engagement and learning. This session provides teachers with the strategies needed to help transform classroom transitions from chaotic to calm. We will focus on how to minimize wait times and maintain high-quality teacher-child interactions during changes in the daily routine. Teachers will leave with a toolkit of best practices to create a joyful flow that supports children's self-regulation and reduces stress for both staff and students.
