This session is designed to address a common challenge in classrooms: ensuring that differentiation is intentionally embedded within general education instruction to meet the needs of gifted and advanced learners. Participants will examine what effective differentiation looks like in practice and how to move beyond compliance to truly responsive instruction that increases depth, complexity, and student thinking .
Through hands-on application, educators will design meaningful extensions, refine questioning strategies, and engage in structured discussion protocols that promote critical thinking, multiple perspectives, and student voice. Emphasis will be placed on differentiating content, process, product, and learning environment in ways that are sustainable and aligned to grade-level expectations.
Participants will also explore how AI can serve as a planning partner to enhance tasks, questioning, and extensions while maintaining instructional integrity. Educators will leave with practical, ready-to-use strategies and an actionable plan to implement differentiation effectively within their existing classroom practices.
This session can take the place of a G/T Day 3, 4, or 5 and can be used as a G/T 6 hour update.
