GT 6 hour update/Day 5 - Algebraic Thinking Across Grade Levels for Advanced Learners - (East Central ISD only)



The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:


This session focuses on building strong algebraic thinking from early grades through high school, with an emphasis on patterns, problem-solving, and making meaningful mathematical connections. Participants will explore how algebraic reasoning develops over time and how to support advanced learners in thinking flexibly and deeply. Practical strategies will be shared to increase rigor and promote long-term mathematical success.

Fees: $0 (G/T Co-op) | $125 (Non-Co-op)

At this time, this session is only available to East Central ISD teachers and staff.

This session will be facilitated virtually from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, with an additional asynchronous task required to earn the full 6 hours of G/T credit.

This training may be used to fulfill G/T Day 3, 4, or 5, or a 6-hour G/T update if not previously completed.
