SpEd Dollars & Sense: Navigating the New SpEd Funding Model 

New Model. New Tool. New Tiers. Get ready to make sense of and navigate the shift in Special Education funding with clarity and confidence. This session serves as your roadmap for the upcoming changes, broken down into three critical phases:

  • The Big Picture: An overview of the "why" and "how" behind the new model including a deep dive into the intensity tiers. 
  • The Toolkit: A hands-on walkthrough of the new SpEd funding tool and resources with practice examples.
  • The Calibration: Collaborative exercises to align your understanding of the intensity tiers and service groups.
    • Note: To participate in the hands-on exercises, please bring physical IEP copies or ensure you have electronic access to your IEP system.  

Intended Audience: Special Education (SpEd) administrators, coordinators, and staff 

Note: All training materials will be provided in a shared folder that can be utilized to share with other staff.
