Ready to refine your math instruction? Join us at ESC-20 for an immersive deep dive into the New Math Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS)! What’s New in the Math RBIS? Discover a set of research-based practices grounded in the science of how students best learn math. The refined strategies include:

Day 1 (Full day): RBIS 0: Key Principles from the Science of Learning – Understand how to activate learning mindsets and manage cognitive load. RBIS 1: Depth and Coherence – Learn to teach math as a connected, coherent story across grade levels while focusing on the most critical concepts. RBIS 2: Conceptual Understanding, Procedural Fluency, and Automaticity – Develop these as an interdependent and iterative process.

Day 2 (Half Day): RBIS 3: Effective Explicit Instruction for Novice Learners – Master planned, clear, and direct instruction to build accurate understanding. RBIS 4: Effective Practice for Mathematical Independence – Facilitate student practice with feedback to pursue mathematical proficiency.
