G/T Day 1 - Nature & Needs of G/T Students (San Antonio ISD)



The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:


Participants will gain understanding of specialized services for gifted learners who possess certain characteristics and behaviors that require modification of the general education program. Understanding the nature and needs of these students is a critical component of effective program design.

This course may count as a 6-hour GT update for educators who are in need of a refresher on the nature and needs of gifted students, provided it has been three years or more since they previously completed this session.
