The Math Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) Refinement Training is a comprehensive professional development session designed by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The training centers on a collection of practices grounded in cognitive science and the Science of Learning to enhance K-12 mathematics instruction. It highlights the implementation of these refined strategies across state-developed high-quality instructional materials (HQIM), specifically referencing the Bluebonnet Learning curriculum.
The primary goal of the session is to equip educators and facilitators with a deep understanding of structural and pedagogical shifts in mathematics education to eliminate systemic barriers and ensure rigorous, grade-level appropriate math mastery for all students.
The Math RBIS Refinement is for participants who have already received training on Math RBIS prior to May 2026.
