Virtual: Increasing Language Development Through Pictures



ESC-20 provides regional leadership, technical assistance, and staff development to clients in the area of family engagement. ESC-20 also provides resources and training opportunities for parents and families of students served within federal programs, including, but not limited to, Title I, Title III, Special Education, and Head Start.

Important Session Information:


A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words. There are multiple ways you can use a picture to enhance language and literacy development with children who would benefit from support in these areas. We will look at the Picture Word Induction Model (Calhoun, 1998) as a framework for using pictures as a primary strategy to develop language and literacy skills.
