Every student brings unique experiences, strengths, and educational needs to the evaluation process. Comprehensive evaluations require teams to look beyond test scores and consider the individual factors that may influence a student’s learning, behavior, assessment performance, and educational progress.
This session connects Texas disability identification data with practical strategies for strengthening comprehensive evaluation practices. Participants will examine statewide identification trends and explore a framework for considering educational, linguistic, developmental, family, and environmental factors when planning evaluations and interpreting results. Through practical application and professional reflection, participants will explore how individual student context can inform data interpretation, collaborative decision-making, and educationally relevant recommendations. Participants will leave with practical tools for conducting thoughtful, individualized evaluations that support accurate identification and meaningful student outcomes.
This session will help participants:
- Analyze Texas disability identification data to identify patterns and considerations relevant to comprehensive evaluation practices.
- Examine educational, linguistic, developmental, family, and environmental factors that may influence student learning and assessment performance.
- Apply an individualized framework for integrating student context with multiple data sources when interpreting evaluation results.
- Evaluate assessment practices and recommendations to support accurate identification, collaborative decision-making, and educationally relevant student outcomes.
