A well-designed classroom can promote engagement, reduce barriers to learning, and foster greater independence for students with autism. In this interactive book study and workshop, participants will receive a copy of Setting Up Classroom Spaces That Support Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and explore evidence-based strategies for creating structured, supportive learning environments. Through guided discussion, collaborative activities, and classroom planning, participants will develop practical ideas and an individualized action plan to enhance their own classroom spaces.
This workshop is designed specifically for special education teachers supporting students with autism. Participants are encouraged to bring photos of their classroom to support planning and discussion.
This session is free to members of the Special Education Cooperative.
