In this Foundational Session you will learn about the nature of gifted students, identification measures to find the gifted and program options that meet their needs. You will also learn what is required by Texas law for gifted students and what best identification and program practices should be followed. As a participant in this in person workshop, you will contribute ideas, share your own experiences, and research related information. This workshop meets Texas state requirements for six hour G/T administrators and counselor training.
NOTE: This course should only be taken by Campus Administrators or Counselors who are receiving their initial 6 hours. It is recommended that you bring charged technology to this session to interact with documents electronically.
This session is part of Southwest ISD coop days for the 2025-2026 school year and is only available for new admin or counselors to attend.
