This training outlines the accountability requirements for Title III, Part A-funded local educational agencies (LEAs) in providing services for immigrant children and youth. LEAs experiencing an unexpected increase in the number or percentage of immigrant students must be prepared to offer activities that enhance instructional opportunities and ensure state academic standards are met.
This session will provide:
An understanding of who qualifies as an immigrant student under federal statute
Strategies to enhance the school environment to benefit immigrant students and their families, and
Suggested activities the meet the Title III, Part A Supplement and Not Supplant requirements
