Business Manager Cooperative
Business Management Meeting-State Funding-3/8/17



This cooperative will provide multiple "School Finance Critical Issues Sessions" for two participants, onsite technical assistance and phone support for all areas of school finance including FIRST and estimating state aide. Membership also includes attendance at required investment officer training.

Important Session Information:


The March Business Management Coop meeting will be held on Wednesday March 8, 2017. 

State funding for both maintenance and operation and interest and sinking will be the topic of discussion.  Our featured speaker will be Amy Copeland, Assistant Director of State Funding at the Texas Education Agency.  Amy and her staff will update us on state funding related topics as we look to close out the 2016-17 fiscal year and budget for 2017-18. 

An update on the special program monitoring that the Texas Education Agency will conduct will be given by ESC 20 staff. 

The session will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude with lunch at noon.

CPE: ESC-20 is registered with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) as a CPE sponsor. This registration does not constitute an endorsement by the Board as to the quality of our CPE program. CEU: ESC-20 is an approved provider of CEU hours with the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). Additional information or complaints regarding provision of CEU credits may be requested from TASBO through its website: www.tasbo.org or phone (512) 462-1711.

Recommended Credit Hours:  CPAs and TASBO-certified participants may earn up to 2.0 credit hours. These participants must sign in and out on a specialized sign-in sheet and will receive a specialized certificate of attendance via email from ESC-20. The specialized certificate aligns with the requirements of TSBPA and TASBO and awards credit hours based on 50-minute contact hours for content time only. CPAs and TASBO-certified participants should use the specialized certificates of attendance (rather than the Connect20 certificates) to report credit hours to TSBPA or TASBO.
