On January 27, 2017, the ESC-20 ELAR Department will be hosting our First Annual E.L.A.R. Enriching Literacy Across the Region Conference. We are welcoming Jan Burkins and Kim Yaris, authors of Who’s Doing the Work and Reading Wellness as our Keynote Speakers. Teachers from across the state will join us for sessions on Balanced Literacy, Reading/Writing Integration, Mentor Text, Vocabulary, Comprehension, and many more ELAR topics! This year, we are also partnering with SAReads to collect books for children of all ages! Please bring a children’s book to donate at the conference. We will hear from SAReads representatives about where our donations go and why it is so important to put books in the hands of our children.
