ESC-20 provides professional development and technical assistance to support educators with implementation of the Social Studies TEKS, analyze data to enhance instructional practices to meet the needs of students, and provides targeted support to reach campus and district goals.

Important Session Information:


This yearlong program supports geography’s big ideas and practices within contemporary geography. Participants will explore the themes of population, human-environment interaction, culture, economics, and physical systems. Instructors will model the use of geographic tools to study geographic phenomena and provide teachers with the opportunity to do geography and explore concepts globally and locally. Sessions will highlight instructional strategies and resources to help participants understand how to support geographic learning in their classroom.

 

Join us in this yearlong adventure with our partner Texas State’s Texas Alliance for Geographic Education (TAGE).  This program provides you 5 days of professional development by university professors, the book Teaching Geography, access to a T.A.G.E.  training at Texas State, and time to design lessons with colleagues facilitated by our Social Stud
